Laser hair removal was originally done with  IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) which is an outdated, inefficient technology. IPL should NOT be used on darker skin tones as the results will be highly inferior and it can lead to burns or complications.

At GoLaser, we have left this inferior technology in the past. We use the Candela GentleMax Pro which uses two different lasers in order to optimize the treatment for different skin tones. To treat fair skin it uses the Alexandrite laser and to treat darker skin it uses the Nd: Yag which has a weaker melanin absorption rate and longer wavelengths. This makes it safe and effective on darker skin tones. Our highly trained technicians customize a treatment plan for you based on your exact needs and your unique and beautiful skin requirements.

With the Nd: Yag laser you get both effective hair removal and smooth, undamaged skin. This, unfortunately, was not true with older IPL technology.  IPL’s single laser was not able to effectively target dark hair on dark skin because it worked based on a contrast in colour.

The place to go to in Toronto if you are looking for laser hair removal. You are welcome every time with water and the place is the cleanest I have ever seen.. just spotless. Customer service is top tier & the services are worth every single penny. The owner & staff are also really nice and professional. This place is incredible!! Both the owner, Monica, and my technician, Leina, have been knowledgeable, kind, and supportive! They make the process enjoyable and calming. After my first appointment I noticed results. In fact, I received a touch up on an area I had done elsewhere previously (15 years prior) and the results were insane (barely any hair growth occurred after my treatment at GoLaser).
